I had an excellent time meeting more babies and families in San Francisco / Bay Area.  I felt very lucky having the sunny weather throughout most of my trip and witnessing @Karlthefog  sitting right above the golden gate bridge – it’s definitely a different kind of beauty! 

I often crave for a more natural setting amidst the concrete jungles of Hong Kong.  Since my work mainly revolves around newborns and moms with big bellies, traveling for long distances is usually out of the question.  In contrast, many families in the Bay Area have outdoors access literally a doorstep away and this can make for a very scenic photo session.  Although the breathtaking sky line of downtown Hong Kong is equally precious, I always love including Mother Nature in my work.

A new subject for the new year: pet photography

I set up my photography service specializing in maternity, newborn and family portraits because I love being a part of the beginning of a new life. I feel flattered that from time to time I get asked if I would be interested in taking photos outside my area of expertise. Recently, I got invited to shoot Bebe (a cute little cat)! I was quite nervous to say yes since I had very little experience in pet photography, and none at all with cats. I love being around animals, though, and I knew it would be a fun project so here are some great photos of Bebe to share.

The experience of shooting photos of a cat is completely different than taking photos of newborns or babies. I can’t pose Bebe; in fact, I actually had to do chase her around the house (up and down the stairs, trying to catch up with her). Without any disappointment, I think I did a pretty good job and it was a lot of fun. I definitely would consider doing more pet photography.

For me, the perfect family is the one with a pet (ideally a dog or two). For my next project, I’d love to take photos of a baby or young child with their pet. Have a pet and a baby? Contact me now!

Happy holidays, everyone!
While we are all busy with holiday shopping, wrapping gifts, and spending time with our family and friends, it’s also a good time for me to wrap up for 2014! This year has been really big for me in my career! First, I’ve finally found the courage to leave my day job and become a full-time photographer. I’ve always wanted to run my own photography studio since my first ever photography gig back in 2007 with Ryan (my mentor, and now my friend as well).  I was still a university student pursuing my dream to become a photographer while working part-time with Ryan on the weekends. I’m truly thankful to him for giving me the opportunity to work with him and he taught me a lot of things about the photography industry.Throughout my internship, I learned how important it is to develop a trusting relationship with every client. Therefore, understanding my clients’ needs is always my top priority in every photo shoot.

Second, maintaining a good client / friend relationship leads me to the next big thing – expanding my experience in Europe! I feel very lucky to have had the chance to work with clients around the world! I started my photography experience in the U.S. traveling from the West Coast to the East, then back to my bustling hometown of Hong Kong, and I’m now expanding my network to another continent! I know I am on the right path, taking my career to the next level where I get to travel with my dream job!

Last but not least, I am very grateful to have a strong team of family and friends to support me. There is a lot more to becoming a full time photographer than just taking nice photos! I am very lucky to have family and friends who have given me a lot of advice and guidance along the way. I probably wouldn’t have made it without you

Looking forward to 2015, I have plans to travel between Europe (mainly Amsterdam) and Hong Kong. With all of your support, the coming year will continue to be exciting and filled with lots of love!
